Definition – What does George Soros mean?
George Soros is a hedge fund manager and currency speculator. He is most famous for breaking the Bank of England in 1992. Soros is not solely a currency trader, as he invests in stocks and derivatives as well. He is, however, one of the more famous investors in forex.

Soros was born in Hungary, but escaped to England during the war and eventually made his way to the United States. After several years as an investment manager, Soros started his own hedge fund and, through intelligent and often contrarian trades, became one of the world’s wealthiest investors. Soros retired from active management in 2000 and turned his attention to philanthropy – although he’s often sought after by the media to give his take on current financial events.
