Definition – What does Pulling In The Horns mean?

Pulling in the horns is a slang term for when previous bullish indicators weaken or turn neutral or bearish. This phrase may be used in conjunction with a number of indicators, including the relative strength indicator (RSI) as well as plain support and resistance.

ForexTerms explains Pulling In The Horns

This phrase refers to bulls – traders who believe a currency pair will appreciate in value – starting to give up in the face of downward market pressure. As the currency pair loses momentum, the bulls pull in their horns and hedge out of their positions. The pulling in of the horns can been seen as sharply upward trends start to skew towards flat.
