ForexTerms explains Thai Baht (THB)
The baht is best known in the forex market as part of the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s. It was heavily shorted by currency speculators, including George Soros, and rapidly depreciated in 1997. Since then, the baht has recovered and, coupled with Thailand’s free-enterprise economy, is considered a strong Asian currency.
